HIGH ENERGY at the ARC on Saturday as the Youth Basketball Championship held its kickoff event.

The opening ceremony commenced at 4pm with opening remarks from Sports Minister, Hon. Bernie Bush, and a welcome from FTS Director, Paul Byles.  Hon. Bernie Bush  delivered an empowering message and commended the players on their dedication to the sport and their hard work.

FTS Director, Paul Byles who founded the Championship welcomed the crowd and stated that the aim for the overall championship was to create more opportunity for the youth to play competitive games and use the sport for greater opportunities locally and internationally. He also mentioned expanding the event to include a Girls Basketball Championship later in the year and inviting international competition next year.

Highly motivated players and coaches quickly got into game mode as the court filled with warm-ups and practice shots. The entire night was filled with equal enthusiasm between players, coaches, and spectators. Highlights included close games,  buzzer beaters, and ferocious dunks.

A BIG round of applause on an outstanding performance from all teams.
